5/3/12 : Cookie’s family writes “We found her earlier today… I came across this facebook page and posted her. We took her for a walk around the neighborhood one last time before it got dark and thank goodness found her owners. Now two small kids are happy with their dog tonight. This is a great Facebook page! I am glad I found it. I will be sharing posts in my area
“
4/28/12 : “I found a dog today at 3:30pm, a beautiful friendly pit bull mix, while I was out walking my 2 dogs, after getting tangled in the leashes I managed to coax him to follow us home and I put him in my back yard while I called the police. I was transferred to Cook County Sheriff, who were unhelpful, and {long story short] I planned on keeping him safe even though my dogs were beside themselves w/ our sudden visitor. I fed him, gave him water, and than got in my car to go looking around and was able to find his owner wandering around the neighborhood…I could tell by the look on his face he had lost a dog….He ran got a leash and met me in my backyard. There was a happy ending and the dog was headed back home by 4:30pm. With the help of this site and all of the tips I was able to react quickly and not panic. It felt good to help him and he was happy to see his owners too.”

Message from Siro’s owner!
“YOU ARE SO RIGHT. Siro was not dead. I couldn’t believe he survived one whole week in rainy and cold weather. A lot of people told me there were coyotes in the forest.
The guy who found him, he said deer might have protected him. When he found him, he was barking & some deer were near by. When I got his call, I cried cried. I couldn’t believe it.
He is so ok, active, playful, happy now.
Thank you so much for your time and encourage me whole time of searching for him.
This made my whole week. Thank you LDI.”
“5 lb. male yorkie mix I placed on your website yesterday, found in Staunton, IL – owners have been found! The little girl who lost this dog came to school this morning crying and wanted to announce to her class that her dog was missing. Her teacher pulled up pictures on her phone of the dog that I had posted on FaceBook and the little girl identified the dog as hers! Thank you for your assistance. Will continue to use your website and FB page as this is not the first lost dog we have assisted in returning to its owner!

“Thank you all so very much. Our precious Penny ended up coming home on her own. We awoke at 2:21am to barking and when we opened the front door she was waiting to be let in! I wish she could tell us where she’s been for the past 9 days. Thank you again for getting the word out and for the work that you do.”
From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank every single animal lover for their sharing of this and all of the prayers and support. I do not have children so Joanie is pretty much the baby in this house. I was so distraught the last few days I did not eat or sleep, all my efforts were focused on finding her and getting her back. She is the sweetest most loving dog and I thank God no harm became of her. She will be spoiled and pampered the rest of her life as for I don’t know how her life was before I adopted her. She was a little shaken up but now she is resting comfortable in her bedroom and her playfulness is slowly returning. What an amazing dog is all I can say and God bless all the animal lovers out there!

“I have found the Pig! Animal control heard one of my many messages.. He was out all night. He crossed a very busy intersection. I couldn’t believe he would do that, I figured he would just go places he knew! He was wacky when they found him. Probably up all night and the cold affected his arthritis terribly. He is home and sleeping on his two beds and near his wife Sandy! This sight has been very helpful and I learned so much. I am usually the person who takes charge in a crisis, but I blanked out and this page has been extremely helpful.”
“We FOUND GATOR! I am so happy to report Gator has been located & is on his way home safe & sound. Thank you for all of the help & support! I would never have known where to start our search. “Thanks for the email. I followed your advise and fortunately for us our dear Bella was found! A local manager at a vet clinic picked her up on Friday night and kept her until morning, she then called animal control who we had already notified. They drove Bella home straight away. We were ecstatic to say the least. She has been with us for so many years and she was born handicapped so the thought of her being lost was so scary. I was just so certain that she may have tried get in a creek for a drink and she wouldn’t have been able to get back out. I guess she was lucky because the lady who found her was spoiling her and feeding her treats. Regardless, thanks for your interest and in return I have shared your information with my entire friends list on FB. I hope their eyes may bring someone else’s baby home too! Thanks again- Alicia”
“My dog has been found!!!!! I posted it on Facebook but wanted to notify you by email too. I live in a very rural area she was evidently lost in the “woods.” Neighbors a couple of miles away found her and had heard I was missing a dog.
